DELTA IV Night Launch August 19th, 2016

Cape Canaveral Night Launch. Chalk on coal black drawing paper, 8"x11". I actually started on this drawing on the night of August 19th. Coincidentally, the DELTA IV launch went off as I went to sleep that night. Would have been good timing to post this piece before the launch, but I felt it needed more work. Not to mention I caught a nasty cold. Might have to draw one of these for each launch from now on. Either way, I was trying to capture the feel of the old CC days when the beaches were clean and the sandbars produced good clean surf. Next one will definitely include an Australian pine. Maybe show the old lifeguard tower that was basically a telephone pole with a wooden seat on it. Yes it was better back then. Cheers.
